The History of Australian Wine in Britain
Sasha Lilly talks to historian Jennifer Regan-Lefeb about her new book, Imperial Wine. She says there is a strong cultural connection between British imperialism and Australian wine making. But she also argues that the 1960s and 1970s were kind of a blip in Britain's imperial history. The appeal of former colonial wines for British consumers may be due to shifted notion of what they conjure up or maybe it's just their shared culture.
