The Problem With the Linguistic System Theory
The limbic system theory was based on a model by a turn of the 20th century German neuroanatomist called Edinger, Ludwig Edinger. But research began to show that certain aspects of Edinger's theory were not valid. The idea that emotions are part of the limbic system, whereas cognition and thoughts arepart of the neocortex is no longer valid because there are other aspects of emotion that depend on subcortical areas.
