The Death of Carlo Bonaparte

In 1784, Napoleon Bonaparte was selected to study artillery at the École Militaire. He passed his exams with flying colors but it may not have been enough. His father Carlo's health began a sharp decline that would ultimately end in his death. In a letter to his mother, Napoleon promised he and Joseph would make up for their father's loss.
