Using Surveys to Track Attitudes to Various Big Issues
I wonder like how much of this is trying to help people internalize what the underlying metric is versus the general lesson. If we then consider something else replacing this metric maybe it's just about really internalizing what like yeah exponential trends are. I think surveys could be a very interesting way to at least track something in terms of how often are people hearing about a particular issue and if they're aware that it might be a problem. A panel survey every six months or every year same people being asked again and again may provide some kind of evidence that efforts to make people more aware of the dentures of AI is working, he says.
