Is It Necessary for Someone to Be Everything to Me?

The problem with looking for other people to meet a specific need though is that it has the danger of commodifying people and making those relationships transactional. Also sometimes people don't want to relate to each other in just one dimension. They really want a more multi-dimensional relationship. And these different roles that someone may be playing in your life that you may be filling in someone else's life may need to change over time as the people in those relationships change.
