How Do We Go From Slow Twitch to Very Fast Twist?

We've evolved to have these different muscle fibres to enable us to do specific things. And part of being human is utilizing all our muscle fibre types. That's what they're there for. It's really about this phenomenon called sequential recruitment. Our slow twitch muscle fibres have a low activation threshold. This means that they are the first to be recruited when a muscle contracts. But if they can't generate the amount of force necessary for the specific activity, the fast twitch muscle fibre are then sequentially engaged.
