I was assigned to factory farming. I think a lot of the clients of the agency that I used to work at were animal protection organizations. So we were assigned to go to the country farms and slaughterhouses. It sounded like really, really strange because I grew up in the countryside in Brazil. That's all I saw before I started doing this work. And then they asked me, but will it be able to witness animals in suffering and being slaughtered? "It's impossible not to see it as a problem," she says.
