Hippolytus' Theology of the Logos
Hippolytus was a member of the same anti-Sebelian and anti-kolicitus faction within the Roman Church. His predecessor, the unknown author of the refutation, was much closer to the logos theology of the 2nd century. Like Aronaeus, the starting point for Hippolytus' theology was scripture rather than philosophy. He charged the modulus with falsely interpreting the scriptures.
