Pregnant mice that were exposed to levels of BPA equivalent to those considered safe and humans, meaning below the FDA levels for being safe, caused reproductive and hormonal defects. Some PCBs have been shown to be cleared through perspiration. Phthalates are another type of man-made compound that are ubiquitous in plastics. People urine samples analyzed from populations worldwide have found that these phthalates can be found in 98% of participants.
