We would rather attack the data that we don't want to believe than admit we are wrong or be persuaded in a different way. So how do we know if we're being persuaded or rationalizing something? Do you have sort of a heuristic for saying, wait a minute, this is I'm succumbing to bias here?" And then you can think, well, can I put some kind of policy in place to protect myself? We tend to underestimate our risk and not take the cautionary action.
