Is Ukraine a Part of the Soviet Union?

I think if you look at the survey data, it still shows that the clear majority, ukranians in both the west and the east, want to maintain the integrity of ukrane. They don't want to split ukrane in half. I think we should do everything we can to maintain that attitude among the ukranian people. My great fear is that as time goes by and the animosity continues to grow, that you may point where there is a lot of sentiment to just break eastern ukraine and western ukraine off from each other. But i don't see that happening now.
