Machine Learning and Astronomy

Machine learning is very much a black box even the people who do machine learning. The basic idea is there are alg ythms that when you show them an image that has the thing that you are interested in in the image. So you divide it up, and the soft wrythem looks at your image and says based on the ten thousand to a million images like this that i've looked at, i am going to say its seing facial recognition on a human.
