Marx and Engels - The Paris Commune
In 1870, twenty years or so after the Communist Manifesto, there was a workers revolution led by anarchists and other non-Marxist socialists in Paris. This was a communist society which lasted about two months until it was crushed by the military. In 1874, Marx wrote an amously forgotten point-by-point response to Bakunin's state and anarchy book. And most anarchists consider the Paris Commune as an example of what an anarchist communist society might look like.
