The Beginning of the Northern Kingdom

In some ways, what we are about to describe is already the death of the northern kingdom. This is a mortal wound from which they will never recover. We're told first of all, this couple of building projects that geroboam was engaged in. Then we're told these these ominous words rboam said in his heart.
