Ukraine extends martial law and pushes back parliamentary elections that were scheduled for October. President Volodomir Zelensky has previously said that elections cannot happen under martial law because it's prohibited under Ukraine's constitution. Putin says fighting in South Eastern Ukraine intensified significantly a day after US officials said that the main thrust of the Ukrainian counter offensive has started.
