The Pitfalls of a False Positive Acetaminophen Level

Bilirubins can be elevated somewhat but never sky high that they would interfere with acetaminophen levels. Another pitfall may be that your lab is only able to give you an ALT. The ALT will take a lot longer to fall after you've been treating your patient because it's half-life in the serum is a lot longer.
