Is the NHS in Trouble?

I think the bottom line has to be, taxpayer-funded free at the point of need. That's how the NHS works. I would have to exhaust all the other options for making the existing model work well and we definitely haven't done that yet. It seems to me that our NHS really, for years and years and years, has been firefighting. We only treat people when they're broken. Now, if you look abroad, there are countries that are much better at all this. In Cuba, emphasis is placed on preventive medicine, hygiene, nutrition, sports, practice and the fight against risk factors. There's a huge conversation, isn't there, Gavin?
