Is There a Right or Wrong Model?
We as a field are fundamentally selfish. I don't want to have just a time lag or not have a time lag. So then you start getting into some of these hybrid models that different people have hypothesized over the years and trying to build in an auto regressive structure with the growth process. And my fingerprints have been on a couple of those and other people have done that as well. Some work better than others. But again, it's not like there's a right or wrong model. It depends on characteristics of the data,. Different frameworks allow for different insights into the nature of how these repeated measures unfold over time.
