The Influence of Frank Boas on African-American Literature

When she went to Howard College, she earned a scholarship to Bernard, women's wing of Columbia at the time and worked in anthropology with Frank Boas. A lot of her work is about incorporating African-American folklore into plots in ways that will later on become the norm. Tony Morrison will really be the one that I think revitalizes that, the song of Solomon.
