Is Literacy Dying?

When you say literacy is dying, there's a part of me that just finds that really shocking. Even with the smartphone, we see how much the phonetic alphabet is still part of the phone and how we use it. But at the same time, I could see how that is fading out. emoji is a pretty good indication.
