The Peloponnesians resumed their invasions of Attica in 428 BC. In June, a plot was hatched on the large island of Lesbos that had the potential to threaten the very survival of the Athenian Empire. But this would not come to pass as certain events kicked off that would turn into one of many atrocities that occurred during the war.
