The City Corp Center's Chevron Bracing Structure
The City Corp Center is a 59 story tower floating on 115 foot stilts. To stop it from swaying in the wind, there's a 400 ton block of concrete on the roof. A tuned mass damper sits at the very top of the building and acts to steady the oscillations. It offsets the wind gusts.
