How COVID-19 Played Out in the UK

A new strain of COVID emerged in the UK thought to originate in Kent because that's where it was first detected. It became part of this exclusionary rhetoric that said yeah we need to tighten our borders and keep migrants out so I felt I had to kind of include that in the story. My book isn't a kind of a straightforward travel log where I say on this day I began and I walked here then the next day I walked here, you know my book does cut forward and backwards in time both in terms of deep time and old stories and the way that they inform the contemporary landscape but also in terms of you know pre-CO VID and post-COVI.
