Elder Christophorson is teaching us that when God joined Adam and Eve as husband and wife, neither we nor any other mortal can alter this divine order of matrimony. President Dalyn Oakes taught that Heavenly Father intends for the marriage relationship to be eternal but also understands that divorce is sometimes necessary. Unless a divorced member has committed serious transgressions, he or she can become eligible for a temple recommend under the same worthiness standards that apply to other members.
