The current currently the world bank uses something roughly around two dollars to us dollars per day so you know it could say two dollars 50 or 75. That converts to in Australian dollars um and uh that's actually at what the world bank calls purchasing power parity, which is a very low income level. Fortunately the scale of the problem has been reducing as i write this book 10 years ago there was something like 1.4 billion people in extreme poverty according to the world bank It's not about currency exchange we're talking about the amount in whatever country it is that purchases as much as three dollars will purchase in Australia.
