The Myth of the Peasant Home

A lot of the decorations that you'd probably find in a peasant home would be modest, right? You wouldn't have gold thread, but they would probably have places that were as nice as they could make them. So we shouldn't assume that a peasant home was completely ugly and drab. We should imagine that like us, they probably made it as much of a home as they possibly could using the materials that they had. I think we people even decorate their jail cells, right?
