Schopenhauer's Optimism in Eastern Philosophy
Schopenhauer also found grounds for optimism in Eastern philosophy and religion, Hinduism and Buddhism. He viewed music as the purest form of art, or at least the closest to his concept of will. In painting, he especially liked the emphasis of a painter, like Vermeer.
