Don't Overestimate Your Influence

In a position of power, you can't actually underestimate your effect on other people. Adam golinski wrote an essay once about how he gave negative or critical feedback to a junior person. He said something that was partly influenced by his mood, but he thought nothing of it. And it turns out that it did have an outsized impact on this more junior person.
