Is There a Sharp Ratio of One?
The purpose of the sharp tio partl is to give you a portfolio that's more likely to reach your goals. Once you take out that risk free rate of return and just focus on the risk piece of return, that equation is going to be much easier with low risk, low return investments than it is with high risk, high return investments. And especially for me, standard because man, i would get so freaked out about my investments if i didn't know what the standard deviation was. Riht: To know what the turbulence is in the flight before i invest i think is great.
