Bonaparte's Triumph in France
Bonaparte's rule is not a repudiation of the revolution, but rather its total fulfilment. He was finally achieving the dreams of the early revolutionaries. The old hated privileges of the church and nobility were totally swept aside. All public offices are now open to men of merit. But tensions between france and britain weren't relieved by the treaty of amiene. Both had complaints about the other's conduct. In march 18 o three, the british abandoned the treaty and re declared war. Napoleon began plotting an invasion of the britISH isles.
