What Is Your Language Center?
The language center is a set of brain areas that in most people are in their left hemisphere. And those regions basically work whenever you understand language, regardless of whether you read it or heard it and/or if somebody signed it to you. So we can use it to convert from thoughts into messages or kind of decode messages that we hear or read. It seems like the system is basically storing our knowledge of language.
