I don't recall this book really getting into issues like the Panthers or civil rights in regards to firearms in their use which of course is a topic that has been so left off of the American historical record. It's like I call it intentional amnesia where we don't want to talk about those things were black people use guns to defend themselves and the reason they still exist is because they had a gun in their possession.
