The Rise and Fall of Women's Work

From the 15th century onwards or even a bit before you have word lists say for Latin and French they're recording synonyms. Women are right there at the kind of beginning of dictionary making because they're a useful excuse to come out well actually we need multilingual so early dictionaries were often marketed as being for women who obviously won't have the Latin necessarily as much through there due to their exclusion from education.
