The History of Erlang
Erlang is a highly concurrency oriented, functional programming language that's just recently seems to be picking up a lot of steam. In 2006, they added multi-processing support where several different pieces of your code could run at the same time. It was developed by Ericsson and gets its roots there in doing telecommunications type software. The reason why Erlang is more popular now is because in 2006, they adding multi- processing support. So what we could spend forever talking about this, but in short, one or two sentences, what's a functional programming language?
