The Democratic Party's Opposition to Public Education
Sally Kohn: After decades of centrist Democrat neoliberal approaches to trying to address inequality, the responsibility for solving inequality at the doorstep of public schools. She says unions in many cases have benefited from this unfortunate situation and it's ironic that the Democratic Party really has not figured out how to get on board with a bolder vision of what public education can be. "I think lots of us have recognized that schools can't solve poverty, but they may be the last thing"
