Foucault held the belief that the more interesting thing to investigate when you're talking about a claim to truth is how power is involved in authenticating it as a truth. We need all of these different identity perspectives where the only correct way to think about identity is through the critical theory that sees the oppressor versus oppressed power dynamic.
