In October 2021, President Xi Jinping published an article in Tiyoshi to Communist Party's flagship journal. This is what he wrote: A happy life is earned through hard work while common prosperity is created through wisdom and diligence. Analysts say this was the first time ever that President Xi publicly mentioned lying flat. It was followed by three days in a row of editorials in the people's daily, the official newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party.
