The Consensus of the US Constitution
The us. Constitution was a compromise constitution, the consitution of 17 87. But as it turns out, it was the pro slavery people who wanted to count blacks and the anti slavery people who didn't want to count them. The fugitive slave clause said that if an enslaved person should escape and flee to a state where slavery did not exist, that that person would not become free. And so without that there wouldn't have been a constitutional agreement.
