Is It a Streptococcal Infection?
Group A is a pyogenic form of strep that has historical importance and is largely defined by the toxins it produces. It's really like you show some evidence of an antecedent streptococcal infection and then a hypo complement, generally hypo complementemic glomerular nephritis with classic GN sort of stuff like hematuria, hypertension, active urine sediment. And one interesting feature again is these non-separative complications predominantly being acute rheumatic fever and post-drepychococcal GN,. which are immunologic manifestations on following that strep infection.
