The Importance of Rotation in Naval Warfare
The entire crew would sometimes rotate out of these ships during the Second World War. The idea was that if let's say Rodney which didn't really go overseas that much in peacetime would come in and then change over the crew so people get arrested and get trained well Walspike was in the Mediterranean in peacetime and so she would come home with all her crew and then switch out when they got home. That wasn't actually for the raw navy I'm sure it would be the same in other navies that wasn't unusual but then what they would do is they would switch out half the ships company. So yeah it was pretty odd you were stuff and people don't often think about
