The Importance of Indefinite Judgment
In the pre-Kantian universe, a hero goes mad, it means he is deprived of his humanity. When only we can't determine idealism, the excess to be thought is absolutely imminent. The very core of creativity is no longer like the night of reason but not what Käll called the night of the world. And this dimension, I think, is missing also in Levanas. In properly dialectical paradox, with all his celebration of otherness, Lvanas does not celebrate some underlying sameness of humans. He celebrates their radical inhuman dimension, the otherness of being reduced to inhumanity.
