The New Capital City of an Island Nation
Indonesia is moving its capital city because parts of the island nation are facing an existential threat in part due to climate change. The US Forest Service projects that as greenhouse gas emissions keep pushing temperatures higher, of growing ranges where trees have conventionally lived, they will be shifting northward. Washington, D.C., the capital city, which is considerably south for me, is currently a zone seven. They're projected to move to a zone eight by the end of the century.
