Group Think and Conformity

Group think results in a decision that is irrational and often dangerous. Conformity pertains to people who either intentionally or unintentionally shift their behaviours, their appearances, their beliefs to sink up to those of the group. When groups feel threatened they may develop a strong us versus them mentality. And this can prompt members to accept group perspectives even when those perspectives don't necessarily aline with their personal views.
