Lenin's Bolsheviks Are a Minority Movement
In May 1912, Lenin permits the Bolsheviks to field candidates at elections for the first time. The seven Bolsheviks who win seats in the Dume need a leader and appoints Roman Malinowski. But by 1914, Malinowski is proving troublesome to his handlers in the secret police. He's been making incendiary anti-sarist speeches in Parliament that divert Communist suspicion away from himself. A gun fired not at the Tsar, but at another European royal will change the terms of the game.
