The Importance of Bat Programs for Young People With ASD Level 2 ADHD
The 16-year-old was diagnosed with ASD level two ADHD, anxiety and depression. Through NDIS funding, this participant was able to attend weekly bat sessions over an extended period of time. Activities ranged from but weren't limited to bushwalking, bird watching, fishing, mountain biking, bush cooking, rock climbing and eventually multi-day expeditions. Some of the focused psychological strategies I used with this young person included solution focused, strengths based, narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and mindfulness integrated CBT.
