The writing is really amateurish, it's readable because of that. So there's no fundamental flaw to it other than inexperience. It does do some weird things like, Kaz from the Alcatraz books is a transplant from this. And there is an entity that lives outside of time that is contacting the main character. That doesn't really belong in the story, but I wanted a cool alien.
