What's the Precursor to the New Zealand Punk Scene?

There was a very vibrant music scene here all through from the 50s. The honeycombs played here and honeylandry was said to have the fouls mouth of any woman they ever heard on the drums. There were Luddy does head out of the song called, did a cover of How's the Europe there? And in each town, each city, there was an R&B club scene,. You know, Mick Jagger was so cool in the 60s. He went and hung out at St. Clair Beach with teenagers from high school  and talked to them.
