How to Teach Speakers of Other Languages
The new book, Holistic Language Instruction, is an attempt to teach English language teachers how this stuff works in the classroom. The majority of my students are speakers of English as a foreign language because their home language is likely Spanish. So we can take all of these methodologies that aren't new or novel and put them into the instruction of teachers. It's going away from the science of reading because it doesn't work, right? It works 60% of the time tops.
