How Many People Were Involved?
Sheriff's department was legally in charge of the search operation, but they lacked the mountaineering skill sets and the man power. The hood river crag rats were called, as were seattle mountain rescue, mount hood ski patrol,. coralis mountain rescue unit, nortik ski and even the german shepherd search dogs from washington state. At least a hundred and 76 volunteer man hours logged in at five thousand 870 or so. There are emotional reactions to simply hearing his name nearly forty years later.
