The Myth of London
I just think it's really interesting when we start thinking about the nature of our sources. Gustave Dorres' black and white engravings are reproduced on practically every new edition of a Dickens novel. We're looking at this very particular poor working class sense of what the city might have been. And that really is a story. It's quite a part of London, that in the way, the darkness of that has somehow come to encompass the whole of the capital city for quite a long period of time.
